If Spelman College is to continue to matriculate women who make choices to change the world, the collegiate journey [offered] must include business and financial training. While a liberal arts education includes a vast range of academic development, the preparation of the “whole woman” has not yet been satisfied.

The “whole woman” is a balanced woman. A required course covering intersecting of liberal arts and business/finance will further enrich the education of the “whole woman” professionally, academically and personally.

The third largest country in the world, the United States of America has a
population of 323,422,688 people.But did you know that these individuals
come from 489 different people groups? In fact, according to The World Factbook, nearly 70,000 refugees were admitted to America in 2013. Of those admitted, 19,488 were from Iraq, 16,299 from Burma, and 9,134 were Bhutan.
With a constant influx of individuals from all over the world making America their
home, the United States has become a prime example of globalization.

Winter Wonderland? Many Left Wondering

Fallen snow mocked unpreparedness. Gridlocked highways held cars, school buses, trucks, and emergency vehicles hostage. Icy winds taunted pedestrians as they braved the walk home, abandoning vehicles. Schools morphed in hotels, Home Depot a boarding house, and Waffle House into a community kitchen. Panicked family members sat waiting, hoping to see stranded loved ones walk through the front door. The snow came, fell and conquered the entire city in a matter of hours.

I did not know it at the time, but HGTV watched me as much as I watched it. The epitome of their 25-54 female target audience, they followed me closely. They, the HGTV secret watchers, knew that like a robot, my Saturday morning routine was a three to four hour staycation comprised of what I deemed to be HGTV’s best shows: Property Brothers, Bath Crashers, House Hunters, House Hunters International and Property Virgins. Somehow, they even seemed to know that while watching the shows, I thought of 
my kitchen with dread, slight disdain, and impatience..
